We just finished reading our third read-aloud, Matilda, by Roald Dahl. It earned 5 stars from our class! We loved the heroine of this book! Matilda is not only incredibly intelligent, she is humble and kind. Although she does have some rotten people in her life (her parents and Miss Trunchbull, the headmistress at her school), she loves to read more than anything and often finds comfort in her books. She is especially grateful when she meets Miss Honey, her kind and loving teacher.
Through all kinds of funny and wild chapters, we laughed at Matilda and were often shocked too! A great read-aloud with interesting characters and fascinating plot that kept us wanting to read more each and every chapter.
Three cheers for Matilda!
