Our class has been fortunate enough to pair up with Ms. Little's third grade class for reading buddies twice a month. This is a great opportunity to practice our reading skills in a meaningful way. During our reading buddies time the room is buzzing with positive energy. First, the first graders read a number of books at their reading level to their third grade buddies. Then, the third graders get a chance to read some more difficult books aloud to the first graders. Everyone is excited and engaged and we are all thankful to spend this time together!

After the first graders read each book, third graders partners are encourages to as them reading comprehension questions about the story.
Question asked include:
WHO are the main charachters?
WHAT is the story about?
WHERE and WHEN does the story take place?
WHY did (event/incident) happen?
What was your FAVORITE PART?
